The Cape Heritage Hotel has decided to partner with charities and non-profit organisations that are working to make a difference in our city. For example, the Zip Zap Circus School, which aims to inspire young people and encourage peaceful coexistence across cultures.
Zip Zap runs several outreach programs ranging form working with children with HIV (in collaboration with Medicines sans Frontiers), to a shelter program for children (in collaboration with SOS children’s villages). At the hotel, we have chosen Zip Zap to be our favourite NGO because we believe the future of South Africa lies in accepting and celebrating diversity. One of our current projects is producing a documentary to showcase the journey of Zip Zap Circus School since it opened in 1992. As our guests, we invite you to join us by paying a levy as you leave which will go directly to Zip Zap and their outreach programs. At the Cape Heritage Hotel, we consider our staff team part of a family, including their children. In 2015 we set up a bursary fund to ensure all our staff member’s children had access to quality education.
While visiting our beautiful city, you might come across people living on the street. The Shelter Program is committed to finding long-term solutions for homelessness. Instead of giving money, we suggest buying vouchers that will give anyone on the street access to shelter and a meal. For more information, please enquire at reception.
Thanks to her tireless work for the Zip Zap Circus in Cape Town, Victoria Nel is known as “the godmother,” as her generosity and commitment are legendary.
Victoria is someone who uses her resources to generate resources for others. Her passion inspires and helps develop trust and respect amongst young people.
